Our rule of thumb
The best beauty device isn't the one with the longest spec sheet. It's the one you'll actually use three times a week.

Where to start

Choose by your skin goal.

Each type of device does one job really well. Start with the result you care about most.

01

Smoother, brighter-looking skin

An LED face mask. Hands-free sessions a few times a week that fit easily into an evening routine.

02

A lifted, more sculpted look

A microcurrent device. A few minutes a day, gliding along your facial contours, with results that build over weeks.

03

A deeper, gentler cleanse

A sonic cleansing brush. Soft silicone and about a minute, and it lifts makeup and sunscreen far better than hands alone.

The buying guide

How to choose an at-home beauty device.

Before you buy, be honest about how much time you have each day, and pick the device whose routine fits it. A three-minute device used daily beats a twenty-minute one sitting in a drawer.

Look for FDA-cleared devices from brands with a clear warranty and a return window. LED and microcurrent results build over weeks of consistent use, not overnight.

If you have a skin condition, are pregnant, or take medication that makes you sensitive to light, check with your doctor before starting any light or microcurrent device.

Do LED face masks really work?

LED masks use specific light wavelengths, mostly red and near-infrared, and many are FDA-cleared for at-home use. Most brands suggest using them several times a week for a few weeks before judging results.

LED mask or microcurrent: which should I buy first?

LED is aimed at overall tone and texture. Microcurrent is aimed at a firmer, more lifted look. Choose based on which result matters more to you. Many people eventually use both.

Is it cheaper on Amazon or from the brand?

It changes week to week. Brands often run their own holiday sales and bundles, while Amazon may ship faster. Every device here lets you check both.

How long do these devices last?

Most come with a one to two year warranty and last years with normal use. Check each brand's warranty and return policy before you buy.

Are cleansing brushes safe for sensitive skin?

Soft silicone brushes are generally gentler than bristle brushes, and some come in sensitive-skin versions. Start on the lowest setting.
